OUR STORY

WHEN ROBERTO "BOB" LEON AND BLANCA LEON CAME TO AMERICA LOOKING FOR A BETTER WAY OF LIFE 63 YEARS AGO, THEY KNEW EXACTLY WHERE TO BEGIN; RESTAURANTS. AFTER A LIFE OF BEING COOKS, WAITERS, AND BUSBOYS, THE LEONS DIDN'T WASTE TIME IN PUTTING THEIR EXPERIENCE TO GOOD USE.

 

BEGINNING IN 1970 WITH A SMALL RESTAURANT IN PASADENA CALLED "LA FIESTA GRANDE" THE LEONS WERE DETERMINED TO PROVIDE THE COMMUNITY WITH DELICIOUS MEXICAN FOOD AT A REASONABLE PRICE. IT WAS A HUGE SUCCESS AND CUSTOMERS FLOCKED TO THE RESTAURANT FOR THE DELICIOUS FOOD, DRINKS, AND ENVIRONMENT. AFTER A FEWS YEARS, THE LEONS ACTUALLY DECIDED TO MOVE BACK HOME. ONCE THEIR FIRST GRAND CHILD WAS BORN, THEY DECIDED TO RETURN TO THE UNITED STATES. THE LEONS THEN STARTED THE RESTAURANT YOU NOW KNOW AS "VERACRUZ" MEXICAN RESTAURANT. FAST FORWARD MANY YEARS & THREE LOCATIONS LATER, YOU COULD SAY THAT ROBERTO AND BLANCA WERE LIVING THE AMERICAN DREAM.

THE THREE VERACRUZ RESTAURANTS ARE NOW RUN BY ROBERTO AND BLANCA'S FAMILY. THE ENTIRE FAMILY AND STAFF TAKE GREAT PRIDE IN WHAT THE LEONS STARTED MANY YEARS AGO. THE TRADITION OF TREATING CUSTOMERS JUST LIKE FAMILY, CONTINUES ON. EVERY TIME YOU COME IN FOR A MEAL AT ONE OF THE VERACRUZ RESTAURANTS, PLEASE KNOW YOU ARE HELPING TO KEEP ROBERTO AND BLANCA'S DREAM ALIVE.
